Tietokone - ja tulostinhuolia / Computer and printer worries

Tässä istun jälleen.Mistähän sitä aloittaisi? Varmaan siitä, mitä viime su tapahtui. Silloin (eli kalenterin mukaan 1.11.2015) erään ystäväni mies asensi minulle koneelleni Win10:n. Se kesti pitkään, mutta lopulta asennus onnstui. Ongelmat alkoivat sen jälkeen melkein heti. Ai miten niin?
No, siten niin, että Win10:n sopivan tulostimen ajuria ei löytynyt netistä. Se taas johti siihen, että vanha, luotettava HPLaserJet6L - tulostimeni irrotettiin sähköpistokkeesta.
Eilen tarina sai sen verran jatkoa, että 3.11.2015 eli eilen iskä ja minä kävimme eräässä paikallisessa tietokoneliikkeessä viemässä koneeni sinne, jotta siihen asennettaisiin ajuri, jota Win10 ymmärtää. Samaan syssyyn minulle ostettiin tulostin, Epson Expression Premium. En saanut konettani vielä eilen kotiin, koska he eivät ehtineet asentaa ajuria silloin.
Tänään eli 4.11.2015 minulle tuli tekstiviesti, jossa luki, että ajuri on asennettu ja kone on valmis. Minä kiiruhdin noutamaan konetta kotiin. Tulostimen myynyt mies oli paikalla.
"Tulin sitä kannettavaani hakemaan, mutta en jaksa kantaa tulostinta kotiin, kun se on niin painava", sanoin hänelle.
"Minä voin tuoda sen. Minne se pitää toimittaa?" myyjämies kysyi, ja minä kerroin.
Olisi vaan pitänyt antaa vielä tarkemmat koordinaatit. Myyjämies soitti, että enkö kuule. No enhän kuullut, kun mies oli väärän oven takana. Minä lähdin katsomaan, ja olihan se auto ihan kulman takana. Minä viittasin sitä seuraamaan ja näytin oikean osoitteen. No, mies toi tulostimen.
"Minulla on vielä yksi pieni ongelma", sanoin hänelle.
"Tuo vanha tulostin pitää siirtää pois, se kun on tiellä, eikä Epson mahdu, jos HP on tiellä."
"Mihin tämä pannaan?" mies kysyi, tarkoittaen vanhaa tulostinta.
Näytin pikkuvarastoni hänelle. "Kyllä se tänne mahtuu", arvelin, vaikka salaa pelkäsin, että HP:n paino romahduttaisi hyllyn. Mies kuitenkin laittoi HP:n hyllylle piuhoineen kaikkineen, palasi sisälle, laittoi Epsonin tietokoneeni viereen pöydälle, kytki sähköpistokkeen ja lähti.
Siitä alkoivatkin sitten uudet hankaluudet. Minä luin ohjeita ja yritin laittaa paperia tulostimeen (siellä oli kyllä muutama arkki jo ennestäänkin). Sitten koetin tulostaa tai skannata, mutta ei, kone ei ota totellakseen. Pyytää vaan jotain korttia, jota minulla ei ikävä kyllä ole. USB - piuha sen sijaan on. Laitoin senkin paikalleen, mutta ei tunnu auttavan. Epson ei tee mitään muuta kuin antaa kytkeä virran päälle ja pois ja selata valikoita. Ja mistä ne paperit tulostuvat? Minä olen syöttänyt arkkeja koneeseen, mutta ainoakaan arkki ei vielä ole tullut koneesta ulos. Jotain se teki, kun suutintestiä koetin, mutta ei, mitään ei tulostunut. Ei sitten kerrassaan mitään! Ja minä haluaisin vain tulostaa tavallista tekstiä, mutta Epson ei vain tunnu suostuvan siihenkään. Ärrin murrin! Tämä ei nyt vaan mene niin kuin tahtoisin! Tämä saaga saa seuraavan kerran jatkoa, kun iskä tulee auttamaan. Hän saa purkaa tuolta takaa, että näkee, aiheutinko minä jo jonkinmoisen tukoksen sinne.

No nyt on verkkoyhteys saatu langattomana, mutta tulostuspuoli ei edelleenkään tottele. Kai iskän pitää tulla setvimään tämä. En viitsisi kamalasti vaivata ystäväpariskuntaani, he kun tekivät niiin suuren työn tuon käyttöjärjestelmän asennuksen kanssa.

Here I am again. Where should I start? Well, maybe from last Sunday, that is, November 1st in 2015. That's when my friend's husband installed Win10 to my computer.
It seemed to work fine and it does. It works like a dream. He even changed the battery to my computer. I owe him a lot.
Well, the story got the next part yesterday, that is November 3rd in 2015. Dad and I took this laptop of mine to the local computer store. Why? Because of a driver.
Why?
Because of a printer.
Why?
Because there is not such a printer that would have obeyed with my dear HPLaserJet 6L and Win10. That combination does not work. That means I needed a new driver and a new printer.
The guy in the computer store sold Dad the printer and promised to install the driver. The computer spent the night in the store. I got the text message today, that the printer and computer are ready to go. I rushed to the store, but because I was alone (Dad is far away), I could not take the printer home on my own.
"Someone must bring it. It's too heavy for me to carry," I told the guy behind the desk.
"No panic. I'll take it. Where do you live?" the seller asked.
I told him the address. He thought he had found the right door, but when he didn't meet me, he called me.
"Did not you hear me ringing the doorbell?" he asked me on the phone.
"No, because you have the wrong door," I told him. I described him the house where I live. I knew he had to be near, so I went outside to see, if he would be near, and he was. I guided the van to the right place, and the guy walked in.
"There's one more problem," I told him. "The old printer is too heavy for me to lift. You must remove it before you can put the new one to replace it."
The seller moved the printer to the little store room I have outside my door. Then he put the new printer on my desk. After that he left. That's where the next part of this saga started.
This printer does not obey me! No'o! It allows me only to put itself on and off and read the menus, but nothing else. I managed to remove the paper thing from below the printer, but the printer simply does not print, scan or copy. I knew I should have gone "the old way", that is, the wire way and not the wireless way Dad wanted it to be. It may work in Dad's place, but not here. This is so frustrating Dad can't even imagine! I could scream! Even the "nozzle test" did not print anything out of the Epson. It did something, but nothing came out. When Dad comes here again (Friday night, that is, probably November 6th or 7th in 2015), he can fix this. I have lost the battle and I am not going to continue with this, before someone comes to tell me what to do. I need a printer and I am going to make that printer obey me, but this far it has not obeyed me.
# # # A moment later # # # Well, I managed to get the wireless connection OK, but printing still does not work. I guess Dad must fix this. I would not want to bother that guy who installed the Win10, even he's great. Dad has this printer's identical twin. It is a wonder if Dad can't solve the paper problem. I can't.
